Professional AI Will Take A Few Years To Develop, With 225 Gen AI Program : Nilekani

Gen AI, At Infosys’ 43rd annual general meeting, Nandan Nilekani mentioned that the development of enterprise AI will take several years. Infosys has developed 23 AI blueprints to address industry-specific challenges and is currently working on over 225 generative AI projects for its clients.

Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani said that, unlike AI for consumers, the development of AI for businesses will take several years. The main challenge is to use AI to boost productivity in businesses. He mentioned that early fears about AI have calmed down, and people now see its potential benefits when used responsibly, like other technologies such as electricity, nuclear energy, and the internet.

Infosys has created 23 AI blueprints to address specific industry challenges and is currently working on over 225 generative AI projects for clients. Nilekani emphasized that having the right talent is crucial for handling these complex transformations.

He also stated that Infosys is committed to developing software responsibly and has trained 250,000 employees in generative AI. The rise of powerful open-source AI models has sped up the use of AI to tackle difficult business and societal issues.

Nilekani believes that as AI is applied to more areas, many new solutions will emerge. He explained that while consumer AI can make life easier and more productive for many people, enterprise AI is much more complicated. Implementing enterprise AI will require a thorough overhaul of existing technologies within companies and better organization of corporate data so that AI can use it effectively.
